My favourite time to visit Ibiza is when the summer season is over, the island is less busy and the weather is just perfect. Ibiza is under an hour’s (low cost) flight away and is just one of the many travel-lover’s benefits of moving to Barcelona.
Although it’s well known for the lively nightlife in Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni, where major European nightclubs have summer outposts. It’s also home to quiet villages, yoga retreats and beaches, from Platja d’en Bossa, lined with hotels, bars and shops, to quieter sandy coves backed by pine-clad hills found all around the coast.
I recently visited the island with my daughter for a little break. We found some beautiful places to relax and enjoy some wonderful food.
Conde Naste Traveller recently published a list of its pick of Ibiza’s best new restaurants here. However our favourite place, which is not on this list, was El Chiringuito Ibiza – a relaxed top end restaurant on the beach with great food and service. I recommend early and plan for a long late lunch with delicious food!
We spent much of the rest of our time at our private villa Vista Salinas in Sant Josep de sa Talaia, just ten minutes from the airport. I highly recommend browsing the Luxury Retreats Ibiza site for some amazing short term retreat options to fit your budget.
